CF - Professional Development Fund - RenewalCF - Professional Development Fund - Renewal28.8.1 Effective September 1 and February 1 of each contract year, a fund of $30,000 shall be made available to assist CTF and Librarian Members with the cost of scholarship, research, pedagogical development and creative activities related to a Member’s responsibilities under Articles 16 or 17, as appropriate. The total annual fund shall be $60,000 and unused funds will carry over to the next term, subject to 28.8.2. Funds will be available for expenses including, but not limited to, travel to scholarly or pedagogical conferences, for the employment of research assistants, and for other costs directly related to a Member’s duties under Article 16 and 17, as appropriate. CF - EDII Fund - RenewalCF - EDII Fund - Renewal28.9.1 In order to contribute to the continuous development of scholarship and to aid in educational dissemination of teaching and learning, the University has established an Equity, Diversity, Indigeneity and Inclusion Fund (EDII Fund). Effective September 1 of each contract year, a fund of $20,000 shall be made available, and unused funds will carry over to the next term, subject to 28.9.2. $10,000 will be directed toward Indigenous Knowledge endeavours and $10,000 will be directed toward other EDI work. Funds will be available for expenses associated with, but not limited to, guest speakers, incorporating experiential learning directed towards EDII, travel to scholarly or pedagogical conferences on EDII, and EDII training. CF - Lecturer Appointment RenewalCF - Lecturer Appointment Renewal13.7.4.5.1 - Lecturer Appointments shall be renewed every 3 years.
The PTAC shall meet to review the renewal no later than September 15 in the third year of the appointment to make a recommendation to the Dean.
CF - Senior Lecturer Appointment RenewalCF - Senior Lecturer Appointment Renewal13.7.5.6.1 Senior Lecturer Appointments shall be renewed every 5 years subject to the process outlined below. The first evaluation of a Senior Lecturer shall normally take place in the 5th year of the Member’s first Senior Lecturer Appointment. (a) The PTAC shall be responsible for the Senior Lecturer Appointment Evaluation. (b) The Department Chair or designate shall conduct an in-class review in the 4th year of the Members’ first term as a Senior Lecturer. The scheduling of the class visit shall be by mutual agreement of the Member and the designate and shall be determined by September 15. A copy of the in-class review will be provided to the Member, copied to their Official File and Dean, and where a designate conducted the review, sent to the Department Chair. (c) No later than September 15 of the 5th year of their appointment, the Member may provide documents in support of the renewal of their Senior Lecturer Appointment for PTAC consideration. FT - Equity Workshop and InformationFT - Equity Workshop and Information22.4.1 By September 15 of each academic year, the University, in consultation with the Association, shall provide an Equity Workshop for chairs and Equity Representatives of Search Committees and Tenure and Promotion Committees, and the Librarian Continuing Appointment and Promotion Committee, and for Members who are designated to serve as Equity Representatives on other peer-review committees or on the Senate Promotion and Tenure Committee and the University Librarian Continuing Appointment and Promotion Committee under the provisions of this Article 22. Chairs and Equity Representatives of these committees shall participate in this workshop prior to acting in the role during their first year in the position, and at least once every 3 years thereafter. During the final year of a Provisional Appointment, the Member is entitled to be considered for a Candidacy Appointment. By September 15 of the second year of a Provisional Appointment, the Dean shall notify the Member of the date and procedures for application for a Candidacy Appointment under 13.4, including arranging the scheduling of the inclass review as per 13.3.2. 13.3.2 For Members in PTPs, an in-class peer review shall take place in the year prior to applying for a Candidacy Appointment. Such review shall be conducted by the Department Chair or designate. The designate shall normally be from the academic unit or sub-unit, as appropriate, in which the course is offered, or from a cognate discipline. The choice of reviewer shall be mutually agreed to by the Chair and the Member. The evaluation shall include at least one visit, and no more than 3 visits, to the Member’s classes. The scheduling of the class visit(s) shall be by mutual agreement of the Member and the Chair or designate and shall be determined by September 15 of the second year of the Member’s Provisional Appointment. Such an evaluation shall be in writing, presented to the Member, and copied to the Dean and Member's Official file. FT: Procedures of Dept. (or equivalent) Tenure and PromotionFT: Procedures of Dept.
