Hi all,
As you all are well aware this unprecedented public health crisis has also been a personal finance crisis for many Canadians, including some OCUFA members. To that end we have partnered with our benefits partner Eckler to offer a free financial wellness seminar for members. The seminar is not intended to provide specific financial advice but rather some broad principles of financial wellness in a crisis as well as a summary of the array of programs now available via the federal government for those in financial distress.
The workshop is open to all members across the province and the platform can accommodate up to 10,000 attendees. Below you find more detail on the seminar and a link we encourage you send to your members for registration.
Registration for the event is via the following link:

Subject: Webinar for your members: Managing in difficult times
The uncertainty brought on by COVID-19 is being felt around the world. The psychological and financial impacts have been significant. An Angus Reid poll found that nearly half of Canadian households have reported loss of income as a result of the pandemic. Loss of income, or the potential loss of income, and the decline of retirement and other savings, has left many anxious about their personal financial situations.
Fortunately, the government has announced a number of relief measures to support Canadians who are experiencing financial loss as a result of the pandemic, and there are additional money management strategies that you can use to help mitigate the financial impact.
Eckler Ltd, an independent provider of financial wellness education, will deliver a short webinar that provides a concise overview of the government benefits available and the information your members need to create a plan for their personal financial situation.
Topics include:
- tips and ideas on how to assess your current financial position
- information about the current relief measures available to Canadians
- where to find sources of liquidity or cash
- key personal information for emergencies and creditors
The session details are provided below.
